| Message from the Prez November 05
We had a great turnout at our first club meeting in Virginia - It was a beautiful October day! There was much socializing before the meeting commenced, Russ and I got to play "tour guides" and show off our humble Heisey collection. There were plenty of snacks to go around and not one, but two birthday cakes! Sherry Warren, Sherry Sheetz and Maezene Walker were the unfortunate targets of our "Happy Birthday" singing. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm gonna stick to collecting Heisey - I can't carry a tune in a bucket (or even a Heisey Hairpin Basket!). We dispensed with much of the formalities and got right into our program, Heisey Animals. We had an impressive display and we learned much about how all these beauties came to be. I still don't know which one is my favorite animal! Chris Hartman and the Warrens did a great job doing research for this program. Our next club meeting is on November 14th at the Potomac Public Library. I don't mean to get ahead of myself, but make plans for December 3rd from 1-4 pm, as we will once again be meeting in Virginia (call 703-250-6117, or email bake4me@verizon.net for directions). We will be having a Holiday Pot Luck and showing off homemade crafts made out of Heisey. Ever see a Ridgeleigh Santa or Angel?
