Greetings Heisey Hunters,

It's been a busy summer. In June, of course, we made the trek to Newark for Convention. Among the many highlights was the new layout for the museum, and I strongly urge folks to stop by and take a look. I think you'll be impressed with all the hard work everyone put into it, and see things that you've never noticed before. Bryan is doing a fantastic job in promoting HCA, exemplified by the Museum rededication that occurred with the Governor's wife. The Heisey show was well attended and dealers had an impressive array of items for sale, some of which made it home with our local club attendees.

The Blind Auction provided yet another opportunity to support HCA and the items brought a lot of attention and donations, spurred on by the theme-attired helpers. Dressed in pirate outfits, complete with a stuffed parrot, I was sure Johnny Depp was going to appear. The dinner was again held at the Crystal Ballroom, and we welcomed in the new board members. A good time was had by all, and I look forward to heading back over for the Percy Moore dinner and the Select Auction. I hear there are some fine items to be auctioned.

With the summer rapidly closing behind us, this club will start the planning for the 2008 All Heisey show, again to be held in Gaithersburg. We also are looking at increasing member involvement and finding new ways to promote Heisey glass. There are a couple good ideas floating around, and I've been contacted by several other clubs to share ideas.

Recently, a freelance author who publishes in several antique magazines is interested in doing some articles on Heisey and approached me for information. If anyone is interested in sharing some anecdotes or wishes to write an article, either for the Heisey Herald or a national magazine, please contact either John or me. We're always looking for new ideas.

We look forward to seeing you at the Potomac Library in September, where we'll be reviewing the finds of the summer, swapping tales and kicking off the planning for the 2008 Gaithersburg Show.

See you in Potomac!
