Heisey Glass

Message from the Prez

May 08

Greetings Heisey Hunters –

It’s been a busy Spring, the All-Heisey Glass Show and Sale is behind us, the Heisey Benefit Auction is a fond memory and the Convention is rapidly approaching. For those who were not able to make it to the show, there was some mighty fine glass there. The same can be said about the Auction in Newark , and I encourage anyone who hasn’t attended any of the Heisey events to fit at least one per year into their schedule. Preparations are underway for the convention, and as a reminder, the Select Auction submissions are due soon. While in Newark for the Benefit Auction, I saw a great presentation from the Michigan club, who are hosting the Annual Percy Moore Dinner this fall.

The National Capital Heisey Collectors Club voted to send a $5000 contribution to the Endowment Fund. This is in addition to the $500 already contributed via the Name That Pattern initiative resulting the 1000 Marmalade being named the Maezene.

I want to acknowledge the contribution from Frank and Sharon Orienter for their assistance in providing helpful guidance and input into the last newsletter on photographic techniques. Due to my oversight and the rush to get to press, we failed to make the proper acknowledgments for their input.

It’s been a pleasure serving as your President, and I wish the best of luck and continued success to the new president.

See you in Falls Church,

        Ted Sheets, President
