| Message from the Prez May 07 Hi There Heisey Hunters, Spring has finally sprung, and with it the usual chores including yard work and landscaping projects. Those activities cut into the Heisey Hunting that would be the normal weekend activity, and I can’t help but think there are hidden treasures I’m missing at all the garage sales and flea markets. On the way home from Home Depot the other day, I stopped at the Salvation Army thrift store and snatched a pair of marked Old Williamsburg goblets for a couple dollars. Old habits die hard, I didn’t need them, but how could I pass that up. I also have to get some of those boxes of Heisey sorted through that are still in the garage so I can get a car in there…at least one. Since picking up a few treasures at the Gaithersburg show, we had to rearrange displays and make some room. Sherry’s been complaining lately about most of the flat surfaces at home being covered with glass. I guess she has a point when it spilled over from the dining room table, coffee and end tables and began encroaching on the living room floor. We'll be taking a few things over to Convention in June for the Flea on the Square and setting up at the local Big Flea in July...... John’s done his usual wonderful job with the Show Review, so that’s pretty much wrapped up, and as you read this, we’ll be voting in the slate of officers for the next year at the May meeting. Since the nominees are the existing officers, it looks like we’ll be here at least another year. I look forward to serving as President again, and promoting the club and Heisey glass as best I can. I think the last year has been fruitful, and promise to continue seeking out new sources, members and ways to include members in this wonderful activity. We’re always looking for new folks, new topics (should you have a request for a study topic, please contact John or me) and ways to expand interest. I want to welcome the new members, and encourage you to attend the meetings, send in ideas, consider taking your favorite topic and doing a program to help us keep the Heisey Herald a valuable resource for all to share. See you in Falls Church! Ted Sheets,
President
