| Message from the Prez May 04
I may be biased, but I believe we put on the most beautiful glass show in the country. I have been told by many of our dealers that the convention is no match for our show. None of this could be possible without all of the hard work put in be our club members who help with the show, and our wonderful dealers, who trek out to Gaithersburg, with all of that beautiful Heisey glass. Thanks to all! Winter gave us one last blast on the Monday night of our April meeting, and our attendance was down. If I wasn’t El Presidente, I would have gone right to bed from work! We did cover a lot of issues from the show, and took care of some other business. We talked about making the booths in the center aisle a little bigger to give those dealers more breathing room. We also talked about getting new power cords, and new signs for the show. One of the topics we did not talk about (because I forgot to bring it up) was to change our club meetings from Monday night to Saturday afternoon. Over the past couple of years, I have been told it is getting harder for some of our members to make it to the meetings, and Saturday is better for them. Please think this over for the next meeting, we may be able to increase club attendance. All of the Club officers have agreed to go one more year, and were unanimously voted back into office. Thanks to Bryan Baker (Secretary), Chuck Pellerin (Treasurer), and Chris Hartman (VP) for agreeing to one more year. Our May meeting is the last one of the year, so please try and make it. We will be talking about how we want to donate the proceeds from our show to HCA, and our vote for the HCA Board of Director’s. Our own Bryan Baker is up for election this year, and he could sure use our support. Chris Hartman will be doing a program on Sunburst, so bring examples. John Martinez
