Hi There Heisey Hunters,

Well it sure has been a busy month since the last newsletter. Many of us got together at the Gaithersburg show and our local club was well represented at the Benefit Auction in Newark the following week.  And of course, finding new spots in the house for all those new acquisitions takes time.

First, I want to extend a HUGE thanks to everyone involved in the 35th Annual All Heisey Show & Sale, be you a volunteer, dealer or Heisey buyer (or in the case of many of us, ALL THREE).  A special thanks to Bryan & Russ for again hosting the dealers at their home, where we all got to see some new Heisey and the beautiful displays.

Preliminary numbers are in, and it looks like we were successful in raising more money this year than last. After the ice storm that blew through on Friday before the show, we were worried a bit, as there were still snowy streets on Saturday.  But the road crews had worked overnight and I got about a dozen phone calls asking if the show was still on, to which I gave a strong affirmative.  Turnout was slightly better than last year early in the day. There were lots of smiling faces and trips to the cars with all the glass that was added to the collections of attendees.  It was good to see so many familiar faces, and Mildred Willey, although not a dealer, came over with her grandson to visit. Georgia Otten brought Mac with her, and that was his first time here. Patsy and Nat Parker came up and Nat found his Prison Stripe punch bowl he’d been looking for.

All in all, I was pleased.  It was good to meet new folks, put faces to a few eBay ID’s, and welcome some new members that we’d met at the Big Flea.  By the April meeting, we should have the analysis of the advertising, final show figures and have the basis for planning the next show.
