It was another great turnout for our Virginia club meeting! We continue to see new faces in our midst. we talked a good deal about the upcoming show in March (details below) - it looks like things are taking shape nicely. John did a bang-up job introducing us to "Heisey Covered Marmalades and Preserves." A huge display of all pieces talked about accompanied the presentation and there was great participation from the club (lots of Q&A). It seems the idea of holding our club meetings every other month in Northern Virginia is catching on. Our main goal in doing this was to try to accommodate our members who live in Virginia, in addition to increasing meeting attendance and involvement. That having been said, we need to look into securing a facility in the Northern Virginia area to hold these meetings. Please put on your thinking caps and let me know of any suggestions you have. No to the show. Okay, you DO know what show I'm talking about - right? Just in case you forgot - The 34th Annual All-Heisey Glass Show and Sale is March 18 & 19 (a copy of the show card with details is in the newsletter)! With the way time flies, its just around the corner. This is our club's yearly fund raiser for HCA. we have fantastic dealers from all over, and I'm sure each one of them will have that elusive piece of Heisey you've been searching for. This is also an opportunity to visit with far away friends - and make new ones as well. In essence, the show marks the kick-off of the 2006 Heisey activity season. The Heisey Benefit Auction is March 31 and April 1, the Heisey Convention (All Aboard the Heisey express) is June 14-17, in addition to event scheduled later on in the year. Make your reservations now. And remember; proceeds from these events go directly to HCA in support of your museum. See your there!!!
