| Message from the Prez December 04/ January 05
I hope everyone had a happy, healthy holiday season filled with friends, family, and lots and lots of Heisey glass. I know for a fact an elusive item or two ended up under our tree. Please bring some of that loot to share with the club at our next meeting. Now that winter is upon us, I want to remind everyone of our snow policy. If after school activities in Montgomery County are canceled because of inclement weather, that includes us. A good rule of thumb is, if you don’t feel comfortable on the road, please stay home. Your health and safety are more important to us than your attendance. Sheri Warren has plenty of empty spaces on the sign up sheet to volunteer working the All Heisey Show and Sale in March. Give her a call if you can work the door or membership table at 703 830-6764, or shoot me an email at pres@capitalheiseyclub.org , please put “Heisey” in the title or I will probably think it is spam and delete it. For the new year, I’m looking for new ideas to increase our clubs membership, and make our meetings more enjoyable. Actually Bryan Baker has put this bug in my ear, and I have a few ideas I plan to share at the meeting. Plans for the All Heisey Show are going along on schedule. It looks like we will have a few new dealers at this years show. Carl and Helen Sparacio have retired from doing shows, and we will miss them. The Morrow’s have a conflicting engagement on the weekend of our show, but plan to be back next year. Don’t worry though, contracts are being sent out to the next two dealers on our waiting list, and Bryan Baker just found two new dealers to add to the list. Our March meeting is the Monday after the All Heisey Show and Sale, and I would like to take this opportunity to invite all of our dealers to stay an extra day or so to attend. It will be a little early for the cherry blossoms, but there are still plenty of sights to see in Washington. We all enjoy seeing you at the show, and it would be a treat to have your input in one of our meetings. See ya at the next meeting, John Martinez
